In Memory of Charles D “Tad” Foran

Charles Davis “Tad” Foran was born on November 21, 1927, to Stanley William Foran and Caroline Mildred Davis Foran in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was preceded in death by both his father and mother, Stan and Caroline Foran, as well as his older and only sibling, Patricia Foran Bartram. Early in his young life his parents came back to Texas and settled in Highland Park. Tad married his precious wife, Nina Margaret “Peggy” Hancock on July 2, 1949 in Dallas, Texas, and had celebrated over seventy two years of marriage.
Together, God blessed their lives, marriage, and family with three children: Sharon Lynn Foran Elliott Hogan (widow of Danny Frank Hogan), Charles Davis “Dave” Foran Jr., wife Vicki Boon Foran, and Diana Meg Foran Skinner, husband, Scot Andrew Skinner. Their grandchildren called him “Poppy” and they are by birth order: Holly Foran Beier, husband Joshua, Caroline Skinner Reddick, husband Kelsey, Carrie Foran Taylor, husband Matthew, Nathan Skinner, wife Katie, Charles “Chad” Foran III, Christopher “Bud” Elliott, wife Naomi, and Johnna Elliott O’Brien, husband Michael. Tad’s family heritage includes 16 great grandchildren with one more on the way to make 17. Poppy was the well-loved and respected Patriarch of his family!
Tad is celebrated and remembered as a man with blessings of a strong family, numerous and deep friendships. He was a certified professional mechanical engineer from SMU, an entrepreneur, business owner, civic leader, military veteran and patriot, ministry leader and servant, world traveler, and patented inventor. Tad and Peggy readily invited people in need to share life with them in their home, such as missionaries seeking respite, or a family member in transition. Tad was a fabulous storyteller, that prompted him to write a book filled with “Tad’s Tales”. He had a great sense of humor and a sharp wit. Most importantly, he was a man who knew, loved, and served the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, Leader and Guide. Now that is a man of eternal riches!
He is honored for his love not only of his Savior, his family, and his friends but as a dedicated patriot of the United States of America. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, the U.S. Air Force and in the Texas Air National Guard, retiring as Lt. Colonel. He was awarded the distinguished Air Medal for saving the lives of others during a dangerous military flight. He helped establish the Commemorative Air Force Flying Museum, owned many different airplanes including modern and vintage alike. He loved to give plane rides to young and old, and to train, lead, and fly in airshows around the country.
Tad Foran will be truly missed as he was greatly loved and admired by so many he touched with his amazing life.

We Welcome Charitable Donations in Lieu of Flowers

Our family is so blessed to have such an amazing support group of friends. And we so appreciate all the love we have been shown and know is still yet to come.

A number of people have asked us if we were going to make a charitable donation alternative to sending flowers. If you were thinking of sending flowers, we would love to see that kindness redirected to important ministry needs.

Sharon, Tad’s eldest, is in full-time ministry with Child Evangelism Fellowship, Lone Star CEF. If you would like to give a gift, you can do that here. [Note: Mark any gifts “Sharon Hogan, in memory of Tad Foran”].

Tad’s granddaughter, Carrie Taylor (RN), her husband Matt Taylor (NP), and their two young daughters, Maelyn and Everley, are serving full-time as medical missionaries in Zambia Africa with Christian Health Services Corp (CHSC). You are welcome to make a donation here. [Note: Mark any gifts “Matt & Carrie Taylor in Zambia, in memory of Tad Foran”].

Tad & Peggy have been church members and servants at Firewheel Bible Fellowship for over 60 years. If you would like to honor them with a gift, you can do that here. [Note: Mark any gifts “In Loving Memory of Tad Foran”]

IMPORTANT: Please make note at any of these worthy ministries that your donation is properly marked.

Thank you so much for your consideration of donating to any of these worthy non-profit ministries.
